Hes the best 100 flyer in the class right now with a lot of sheer speed in the butterfly. Haughey (lane 5, fourth from the bottom) is pretty arm-driven, but without a lot of tempo. Alabama holds 12 members of the ranking in the 27-man class as of Wednesday evening. Best Times: Croley is a great sprinter, and if you tend to value an athletes top event or two more highly, youd probably have a good argument to get him as high as #6. If his backstroke keeps rising, he could definitely build out a good 200 to go along with his 100. The highlight is probably the seven-second drop in the 200 fly to lead the class. If you weigh any of those three things differently and want him in your own personal top 20, I wouldnt take any issue with it. The 400 IM is the really exciting one: hes got lot of room to grow from his 3:56, especially with a 4:31 on record in the long course pool. 12. "The UVA track and field staff has assembled an impressive group of first years and transfers on both the men's and women's sides representing . Hes 2:18 in the long course 200, which is among the best in this class. Dont go to B1G Nate or any other breaststrokers. Dillingham doesnt quite have the versatility, yet, to have three good individual events at NCAAs, but just going 19.5/43.9 will give him plenty of opportunity to contribute to a wide range of relays. That race video is just a brilliant final 30 yards or so, and you get the sense Zuchowski has more speed than he knows what to do with yet in a 100 that should make him a high-ceiling prospect and a great 100/200 backstroke at the college level. Hes also dropping well in the 200 IM, going from 1:48.5 last year to 1:46.7 this year. Thats a possibility with this group, too, especially with most of our top 5 being great freestylers with intriguing stroke events also in the mix. Whats interesting is that Sergile is really good at one element that his top two races (200 fly/200 free)donthave in common: hes got outstanding turns, both flip turns and open turns. Theres a lot of good IM depth and more two-distance IMers than we usually see at this age. Overall, though, the NCAA is going to value those IMs really, really highly.
